Five W's Evaluation Possibilities

| Why is Sloodle? | ||||||
|
Simply put, there is an absence of tools that educators can use for learning interactions, administrative tasks and the measurement and recording of student performance data in the Second Life environment. Additionally, there is no current means of communicating such data seamlessly with a "governing" learning management system (LMS). This presents limitations in both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences when using native Second Life functionality. Now, this may sound dry and scientific in the shadow of a visually robust learning environment. However, as long as assessment and evaluation share a cornerstone in the instructional design process, educators and technologists will continue to search for ways to measure student, instructor and course performance. Additionally, Sloodle has the ability to pull learners and learning environments together by connecting the systems. This can dramatically increase the sharing of knowledge between "worlds" (Galarneau & Zibit, 2007). Current examples of this functionality include Chatcast and Toolbar objects. |
