Welcome

This is my ePortfolio for the Master's of Educational Technology program at Boise State University. In my standards table and rationale paper, I showcase some of the projects and assignments I have created, and demonstrate how these are linked to the Association of Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Standards. In a video presentation, I discuss how I have grown professionally, as well as personally, on my journey over the past two years while completing the M.E.T. program.

About Me

Jayne Crawford For the past six years, I have called South Korea my home. I am currently teaching a variety of English programs to Korean students at Ajou University, located in the city of Suwon, 30 kilometers south of Seoul. I began my journey in the Master's of Educational Technology in the summer of 2008. I plan to graduate in May of 2010, also with a certificate in online teaching. Soon after, I would like to return to either Canada or the United States so I am closer to my family.

My background has been in teaching, ever since I became a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons during the summers in my high school and university days. I earned my Bachelor of Education at the University of Saskatchewan in 1993, aspiring to teach young children. After two years of teaching first grade in the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Maarten, I realized that working with young children was not my forte. This realization led me to accept a position at a junior high school in Okotoks, a city just outside Calgary in Alberta, Canada. There, I taught special education and home economics for seven years until 2003.

Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous.
