Welcome to Interactive Courseware Development

This site has been created as an accompaniment to EdTech 511, Interactive Courseware Development. As a graduate student in the M.ET. program at Boise State University, I am working to understand and implement a range of strategies to enhance learning in face to face, blended, and entirely online environments.

Incorporating Flash in the creation of interactive courseware is a means of implementing learning that uses rich media to present lessons that are engaging, effective, and based on best practices.

By leveraging the creative power of Flash and Action Script, I can add depth and nuance to the courses I design, allowing instructors to expand the creativity of their lessons and enhancing the learning experience for students.

I firmly believe that adding multimedia to instruction improves the learning experience for participants and improves student performance. The goal, however, is not limited to instruction that aids student outcomes as demonstrated on post instruction assessments, but for the longer term.

Improving the durability, or far transfer of student knowledge, is critical if students are going to find a practical application of today's lessons in the professional arena.

The student of today must be a life long learner. Interactive experiences are one tool the instructional designer can use to increase the effectiveness of the instruction that is so necessary if our students are to participate fully in society.
