Greeting and Smiling

Debriefing: It is always fascinating what is acceptable in another culture. I understand with what the user was saying about saying hello and goodbye. However it seems since I was raised in a small town you say hello and goodbye to everyone. I can not imagine not being able to smile at anyone in the manner of friendliness. The rating of the video is going to stay the same.

Debriefing: It is amazing the different attitudes about cars with countries' sharing the same border. The Germans have been obsessed with precision in their vehicles such as Audi and Mercedes. It goes back further to World War II with the design of airplanes. In France, I know they are a bit rude with their cars since I have seen it in person. The commercial goes to suit the Germans are careful with their cars. The ratings will stay the same because it is a funny video.
Video Title: Swedish Culture Interview 1
User: Stillintheville
Hits: 827 as of December 11, 2008
Date: August 13, 2008
Rating: 5 Star from a voter.
Debriefing: The video was insightful about how the Swedish people feel about themselves, dislikes, and about other cultures. One spot that I thought was interesting in the video is that the younger generation seemed to be the ones to be either undecided to absolutely no to go to the European Union. While the older generation said, "Yes we should be in it." The ratings in the future, I find the video will have more views because it does have something to offer about culture. There is a second part to the interview to learn more about Swedish people.
Video Title: British Accents

Hits: 582,496 as of December 9, 2008

Rating: 4.5 Stars from 4,336 voters.
Debriefing: I want to debunk a myth here as well. A lot of Americans think there are maybe two or three accents in the United Kingdom, a Scottish accent, an upper class English accent, and a softer country folk accent. After visiting, working, and living in the United Kingdom there are several. I wanted to pass this along so everyone know and hear some of the different accents. There are a few curse words however, it is part of the culture here. If you want more information about the United Kingdom, I made a virtual tour for England but there is some general information about the U. K.
Video Title: Medieval Krakow - Lonely Planet Travel Video
User: LonelyPlanet
Hits: 13,382 as of December 11, 2008
Date: March 18, 2008
Rating: 5 Stars 33 voters.
Debriefing: The video was fascinating about how Krakow still had the Communist culture to offer to their visitors. The history of Poland has changed dramatically within the last century. They did have a country, they had a country but it was invaded by Germany, they were then taken over by communism, and now it is in the European Union. The ratings will stay consistent because there are a certain type of viewer that enjoy travel programs and recommend them to friends. I would think they would receive higher ratings since they point out some good places to visit in Krakow.
Video Title: Greek Dance

Hits: 84 as of December 11, 2008
Date: July 8, 2008
Rating: 0 Stars and 0 voters.
Debriefing: It is unfathomable to understand the significance of one element's culture disappearing off the face of the Earth. It was really neat to hear that the culture strive through the ages and that people, especially the Greek people to keep the cultural dance tradition alive.

Rating: 5 Stars from 13 voters.
Debriefing: I realize the importance of Russia and that they are a big country. However, I tried to find some Russian videos about culture and they are very rare. I found a travel tip one just to help. The taxi tip I think is used the world over. As for the gentleman getting a bit drunk in the club and having his belongings stolen, I would think he would know better. The video I think has a high rating for no reason at all. The video was about common sense. I think I would give it a two for the 'nothing special' range. The reviews will probably stay the same.
Video Title: Copenhagen - Lonely Planet Travel Video
User: lonelyplanet
Hits: 22,791 as of December 11, 2008
Date: August 15, 2008
Rating: 5 Star from 59 voters.
Debriefing: The video was very balanced with food, music, sites, and what the Danes like to do. The food smorrebrod looks tasty to try at some point. I like people that accomplish myth busting as our host described that Copenhagen is not too expensive at all. I thought it was funny that the Danes do not jaywalk. I think it is a great video, and in the future I would expect more five star ratings.
Video Title: Differences: Tips for Travelers
User: ExpertVillage
Hits: 5,410 as of December 8, 2008
Date: November 17, 2007
Rating: 5 Stars from 12 voters.
Debriefing: Even though the video is from a French lesson there are some general rules that apply for the whole of Europe. The 24-hour time clock, to me that makes sense and it is good for organization. She also has some food and introduction etiquette to share. It is not the clearest of videos but it does give good examples of etiquette. The ratings are appropriate to help first time visitors to Europe in general. The video deserves those high ratings because they are trying to help people.
Video Title: 112 - The Single European Emergency Number
User: eutube
Hits: 5,279 as of Dec 8, 2008
Date: October 14, 2008
Rating: 5 Stars from 30 voters
Debriefing: This is not the most thrilling video on YouTube but sometimes we focus too much on the vacation plans versus safety. The video illustrates that no matter where you are in the European Union that if you dial 112 that you get help immediately. A traveler has the reassurance they will have an operator that can speak the same language as you so there is no miscommunication. I think it is smart, the EU has a channel to broadcast safety videos so everyone can benefit. Again, similar to the video about some general European tips, this helps individuals know how to contact help while visiting in the European Union. The ratings are appropriate.
