To complete this task your team will complete a series of 4 steps that will take you through the entire process of this WebQuest.

1. Research- Conduct, evaluate and gather research that is need to complete your map. On the Internet, there is a wealth of informative history sites for you to gather your research from. Below is a partial listing of them.

Research Sites:
The Louisiana State Museum Web site - This is a site that valuable artifacts, information and pictures of The Battle of New Orleans.
Wikipedia -The Battle of New Orleans - Actually, wikipedia has a very detailed and accurate account of the battle as well as graphics and site information.

The Historic New Orleans Collection Site - This site has an extensive wealth of information on the Battle of New Orleans.

Maps:
The Orange French Site Battle of New Orleans Map- This is a page with a diagram of the map from the day of the main chare. (remember you are to do a map of a series of events over several weeks, not just the main battle that occurred on January 8th, 1815.

The University of Florida's Technology Clearing House - Even though this is not necessarily an historical site, it did have an excellent map of the Battle of New Orleans on it.

2. Participate-Meet as a group either in person, online or by email to discus and plan your timeline/map. If you meet in person, you will need to have a member of your team write clear and concise notes on your project. If you meet over the Internet, keep a transcript of your conversations. ( This also applies to your email messages, please keep them for your note file.)
 
3. Synthesize-On your map, print or write clearly, exactly what happened at the battle. If you do not have anyone on your team that can do this, you can use a word processor to write the information in smaller fonts, print up the information, cut the pieces of paper and paste them to the map.
 
4. Peer Review-You and your team will meet with anther team from your class and critique each others maps and information that you have gathered so far. Have a team member keep notes from this meeting and have them prepared to turn in with your other material and map.
