Map of the Battle Field

Process Page>
this link will take you to the process page where you can learn more about the reasons why you are performing this task.

To learn more about the events that took place during the several weeks of the Battle of New Orleans, you are going to create a timeline / map of the events that took place during those weeks. You will be required to do research on this subject and then place it into graphic form. You are not required to be a great artist, but you can do a line drawing of a map like the soldiers did that were at the actual battle. The difference between their map and yours is that you will label and date events at the place on the map that the event took place. During the process of this you be doing the following:

  1. Identifying key military people that were involved in this battle.
  2. Marking places on the map where Jackson's troops used guerrilla tactics to attack british soldiers.
  3. You will be conducting research about these events and writing short paragraphs on the map.
  4. You will also be including dates and times that these events occurred.
  5. You will be working in teams to gather this information
  6. Due to the information that you will be placing on the map, you will need to make the size at least 2 ft. in width by 1 ft. in height ( Paper can be provided by the instructor if you so desire for this project)
