Lev Vygotsky is known as one of the world's pioneering psychologists, where he worked tirelessly in the area of cognitive development specializing and studying the relationship between language and thought. Studying and living in Moscow for most of his life, Vygotsky wrote about social and historical factors in cognition while working in other diverse areas of psychology, like the psychology of art. Mr. Vygotsky also focused on several areas involved in the area of developmental psychology and also child development, which is the subject that we were most interested in when we decided to interview him.
In order to get Mr. Vygotsky's input on the role that education is taking in relation to technology in the classroom, we borrowed H. G. Wells time machine, (which was on hold at the Smithsonian) so that we could travel back to the year 1910 and talk to him. After much persuasion, we finally got Vygotsky to get into the time machine with us and join us here in the 21st century. As we have had to do with other psychologists that we brought back from the past, like Freud, Piaget and others, we had to take Vygotsky to a couple of movies and buy him several cans of Pepsi but once he calmed down we were able to get his thoughts on the role of technology in education.
