This web page is a mobile learning or m-learning activity. It is designed to help you instantly access information for the windy city or Chicago. While on your visit to Chicago, you will learn more about the city: how to navigate a large city, its’ architecture and tourist attractions. As an added bonus, make sure to record your journey using your mobile device and your voice to explain the details of the trip. (If your mobile device is not capable please use a digital camera for images.)

There are 5 parts to this activity:

  1. Tourist Guide Research Google to locate attractions, get directions, find great places to eat and get directions.
  2. City Map Use Google Maps to find the layout of Chicago and how to avoid construction. Locate and investigate the beautiful parks, museums and zoos.
  3. Videos Search YouTube to find interesting videos about Chicago: its’ culture, places to shop, fun places to eat, and sites to visit.
  4. Weather Midwest weather can change in the blink of an eye. Be sure to check in with the weather forecast.
  5. Cell phones and/or mobile devices: Use your mobile device to capture the moment then upload to Flickr (a free online photo management and sharing application) and do voice commentaries to explain your trip with Yodio (a free voice sharing device to personalize your journey). If your mobile device is not equipped use a digital camera to record your images then post through Flickr.
