Summative Evaluation Planning

summative Evaluation Plan

Summative evaluation is typically focused on learner performance. Specifically, to see how well a group did on a learning task that utilized specific learning materials and methods. This process allows the instructional designer to evaluate the learning materials and the learning process. This process is completed after all major changes through formative evaluation have been completed.

The evaluation methods used in this course will determine an accurate picture of the performance of the learners in the Basic Digital Photography course. The summative evaluation will be administered via:

Entry Survey- To be administered at the outset of the course. This is to be given before module 1 is completed. This survey will be administered via Google docs. The entry survey will determine participant impressions and comfort level of using technology. (This will be measured against the exit survey.)

Exit Survey- To be administered within the last module. Participants will fill out the exit survey via Google docs. This survey will determine participant impression's about the course and it's content.

Anecdotal Information- This will be in the form of observations, completed assignments, emails, threaded discussions, and open discussion forums. The instructor will have direct access to this information and it can be disseminated to the instructional designer.
