I am actually leaving for Montana tomorrow (Monday)and I won't be back until after July 19th's deadline so I busted my chops to read everything, write, and enhance a lesson.

I should be able to get online briefly during the week to respond to the discussion questions.

I like the enhancing one of our lesson's portion because we have a lot of lessons in sixth grade social studies that we really know could use some new life and the checklist is a nice way to help.

What a great engaging lesson. I love the choices you've provided for your students. That will help so many of them "buy into" the learning. The way you've developed a format for your students who are not native to Frisco to share their experiences provides such great opportunities for learning. The only suggestion I might make, would be to make your rubric a bit more specific. Rubrics are designed for the student. I'm thinking if I was your student it would not be clear to me what "a thorough knowledge of the subject" is. What do I need to do to clearly demonstrate to you what a "thorough knowledge of the subject is"? Just a suggestion.
