The Task

Your task is to construct a tour of historic sites in Florence, Italy. In short, this tour should be designed for a family of four which consists of a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter. Specifically, the entire family does not want to travel far each day and only has a total of 4 days to spend in Florence. Additionally, the mother and daughter would like to spend time in the various art galleries and cathedrals while the father and son would like to see the numerous parks and town squares. Ideally, the family would like the tour to cover the Renaissance and 15th century periods with a total cost of no more than $500 for each traveler.

There are five parts to the task:

  1. 1. Conduct background research on the country of Italy, the region of Tuscany, and the province of Florence.
  2. 2. Analyze specific tourist sites and divide them by type and location.
  3. 3. Create a day by day itinerary with a breakdown of activities and costs.
  4. 4. Use the evaluation rubric to self-score your travel plan.
  5. 5. Submit your completed travel plan for a grade.

Details about each step are described in the process section of this WebQuest.
