Cleveland, Ohio: Rock 'n' Roll Music

Founded in 1796, Cleveland, Ohio, is the 23rd largest city in the United States. With a unique location to the Great Lakes, Cleveland bolsters a very unique economy. In short, Cleveland is home to large businesses in the areas of manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services. In fact, Cleveland’s blue-collar type attitude provided the perfect framework for America’s music, rock ‘n’ roll.

Essentially, rock ’n’ roll music developed during the 1940’s through the 1960’s. Having been influenced by rhythm and blues and country music, rock ‘n’ roll became a genre that epitomized popular music. In fact, rock ‘n’ roll music incorporated sounds form jazz, classical, and various other musical styles. Additionally, rock ‘n’ roll music is typically centered around an electric guitar and is performed by a rock group that generally consists of a bass, drums, and a vocalist. In short, it is the song-formed music along with the lyrics that ultimately made rock ‘n’ roll music the most popular form of music in the world today.
