What is the Relative Advantage?
Our first thoughts before we consider technology for the classroom is to consider the relative advantage. In other words, what is the main reason, or the determining factor that the new element will be more effective than the old.
In education we know that there are always pedagogical and cognitive issues when it comes to learning. However, we need to consider how technology will enhance student learning and continue to research and incorporate those elements in order to enhance the art of pedagogy and student learning. In the column to the right is an example of a Relative Advantage Chart. This chart can assist you with the task of integrating technology into your classroom.
