Creating Wikis

In this assignment, we will follow the step-by-step instructions within the Techcellent Wikitopia in order to:
I. Set up a Google Site
II. Edit the Splash/Home page within your Google Site
III. Invite the instructor to be an "owner" of the site with you.

We will then use the general understanding of what we learned to perform the same actions using a similiar tool called PBWiki:

V. Edit a page within your PBWiki
VI. Invite the instructor to be an "administrator" of the site with you.

Since you already have a Gmail account, you have easy access to all the Google Tools!
I. Set up a Google Site
a) Visit this page within the "Techcellent Wikitopia": http://techcellentwikitopia.pbworks.com/GoogleSiteAccount
b) View the Screencast
c) Follow the steps for creating your Google Site.
[Tech Tip: Tab your browser so that you may easily click back and forth between the directions and the sign up page.]

II. Edit the Splash/Home page within your Google Site
a) Visit this page within the "Techcellent Wikitopia": http://techcellentwikitopia.pbworks.com/GoogleSiteEditing
b) View the Screencast
c) Follow the steps for editing your "Splash/Home page". Add the following:

• A heading title centered at the top of your Splash/Home page. [Use the "Format" drop-down menu]
• Add color or highlighting to your heading.
• Your first name and last initial centered underneath your page title.
• A BRIEF description of your Google Site's purpose.

III. Invite the instructor to be an "owner" of the site with you.

V. Edit a page within your PBWiki
a) Add the following:

• Page Heading Titles
• Heading Colors
• First Names & Last Initial
• Brief Description of Purpose
