Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is a significant piece of artwork in terms of design and beauty but it also has much historical meaning to the country of France. “The monument is considered the linchpin of the historic axis (L'Axe historique) a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which stretches from the courtyard of the Louvre Palace to the outskirts of Paris” (Arc de Triomphe Paris, 2012).
