Me 2

Who I Am

Why I Am Smiling:

  • Graduation: I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have had many pitfalls on my journey to graduation and it has prolonged my graduation date. I will be very glad to be finished this August. My friends and family say I need to finish school and stop and smell the roses.

  • Grandbaby: I have a cute new grandbaby this year who is now sixteen months old. She is the apple of my eye. I will be holding "Grandma Camp" in June.

  • New Home: My husband I purchased a new home in a beautiful part of Wyoming. We have always wanted a house with land and now we have it, and it is peaceful.

  • Dean's List: My oldest daughter made the Dean's list her first semester at Idaho State University.

  • Marriage: My daughter also got married a couple of months ago!

  • Graduation2: My son will graduate from High School this year! He made it, and I am thrilled!

  • Ireland: My husband and I are going to take a trip to Scotland soon to celebrate my graduation. I have dreamed of going to Scotland my whole life.

Career:

I am a Media Director at an Elementary School. As a Media Director I am a librarian and the technology teacher. In my technology classes, we use all free web-base software or FOSS (Free Open Source Software). I began doing this a few years ago to bridge the digital divide with my students. We are currently using a product called J2E, which is a fabulous product. My 5th grade students are making web pages on our fifty states using J2E...they love it! I have never had a student who didn't like technology and they embrace any new product I present to them. I personally don't see the need to purchase expensive software with all the free resources for educators.

Everything that I teach my students as the technology teacher, is on my website 1..2..3..Tech's 4 Me! The website has viewers from fifty different countries, which spans every Continent. It is very humbling.
