Introduction

This website is the gathering place for my assignments, projects and reflective journal for Edtech 521- Online Teaching in the K-12 Environment. Please use the links on the left to navigate through this website. It is but a small section of a much larger website showcasing my work from my Master's degree at Boise State Unviersity. The Master's degree in Educational Technology is a completely online degree with much hands-on opportunity for learning. I would highly recommend Boise State University if you are thinking about beginning a Master's degree or gaining additional insight into the world of Educational Technology.

My Beliefs on Online Learning

I believe online learning opens up many doors for those of us in rural communities. I also believe it is a perfect fit for motivated learners, learners that don't fit into the regular classroom "box." I have had more student-to-student contact taking online courses more then I had in the regular college classes. Often I was just a number in a very large class with little to no contact with my classmates.

I am very interested in how At-Risk students can benefit from online learning. I also would like to learn more on how the Special Education population might benefit from online learning.

My Dream Job

As lofty as it might sound, I would love to work in an online global learning environment, preferrably K-12. I think students learning from other students from all over the world would have great benefits for all involved. I don't know how this could be accomplished due to time differences, but if it could become a reality, what a great reality it would be!
