Make sure you have all your tools, so we can begin. Let's go!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MISSION 2

In this mission you will take a quiz to see how much you know about Cyberbullies. This will let your teacher understand what she needs to teach you about Cyberbullies safety.

As you are taking the quiz, make sure you write down any questions or words that you don't understand. Hand in your paper to your teacher at the end of class.

Road Rule #2: Always notify an adult if you've had contact with a Cyberbully!

Glossary Terms We Need To Know:

Cyberbully - A person who uses the Internet to harass or intimidate someone else. An e-mail message with a phony from: address is a common way to reach someone without identifying the sender.

Cyberspace - Anyplace users can go on the Internet, including chat rooms, Web sites, and message boards.

Cyberstalking/Harassment - Terms that can refer to the online enticement of children; rude or threatening messages; slanderous information; or repeated, unwanted messages.

How did you do?

Let's define Cyberbully: Cyberbullying is sending or posting harmful or cruel text or images using the Internet or other digital communication devices. Some examples are:

Sending cruel, vicious, and sometimes threatening messages.

Creating web sites that have stories, cartoons, pictures, and jokes ridiculing others.

Posting pictures of classmates online and asking students to rate them, with questions such “Who is the biggest ___ (add a derogatory term)?”

Breaking into an e-mail account and sending vicious or embarrassing material to others.

Engaging someone in IM (instant messaging), tricking that person into revealing sensitive personal information, and forwarding that information to others.

Taking a picture of a person in the locker room using a digital phone camera and sending that picture to others.
