Netiquette for First Grade Students

What is Netiquette?

Netiquette is a term that refers to rules that specify appropriate behavior for communicating online. In order to be a digital citizen, you must abide by the rules.

#1- Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

While using your computer or device, keep your hands and feet to yourself. No touching other people's computer or device.

#2- Always be respectful and nice.

Remember to always be respectful and nice to others. Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Make sure whatever way your are communicating, it is not hurtful.

#3- Use correct written language.

Use language that you would use in your academic writing. If you wouldn’t write it for an assignment in class, you shouldn’t write it online.

#4- Do not give your password out.

Passwords are personal and not for other people. Keep your password to yourself and don’t ask anyone else for their password.

#5- If you have a question, please ask.

If you have a question about anything at all, please ask. It's better to ask for help right away rather than wait until the problem is too big.
